Akkol: is it new tourist Mecca?
More than ten projects were presented during the International Investment Forum "WAKE UP - 2016", which was held in the city of Akkol of Akmola region
Organizers of the forum - "the Center for Tourism Development of Akkol city" together with the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” Kazakhstan aimed to create the conditions for productive cooperation of all stakeholders, to create an open platform for a constructive exchange of experience and ideas. Among the participants were representatives of government agencies, the tourism industry, NGOs and the media.
I must say, being located near the capital city, Akkol has a favorable geographical position, there is an international railway line Almaty - Petropavlovsk - Omsk and highway Astana-Shchuchinsk.
This factor was noted in the welcoming speech by the regional representative of the US Embassy on Environmental Affairs, science, technology and health care in Central Asia Robin McCutcheon. By the way, she comes to Akkol not for the first time and she reached the place on a bike.... According to foreign guests, Akkol, with the active assistance and support has the potential to become a new tourist Mecca.
An interesting project "8 vertices", claiming the status of a breakthrough, was presented by the organizers. According to the director of LLP “Bessen” Zhanar Sambetova, she is aimed at attracting potential investors to the region, and the maximum number of tourists. Within the frames of the project it is planned to organize the ski slopes, hiking, horseback riding, biking hiking routes, as well as wellness and spa centres.
By the way, many people are already interested in the project, which promises to be one of the most important attractions of the Astana agglomeration. The cultural and information agency “SHALOM AQKOL”, as well LLP “Shefer Group” are ready to invest in it.
The participants of the forum proposed various tourism products, mainly traditional forms: joint tourist routes, including hiking tours, bicycle tours. There was made an interesting proposal to revive of ancestral estates. According to the project manager Gregory Moshnenko, creation of a self-sufficient ecosystem has the ability to self-regulation and long-term stability. "A hectare of family estate will connect a forest and garden, and field and s pond, and thus create a varied, rich space where even horticultural agrocnosises won’t require the use of chemical fertilizers and copious", - he said.
But do not forget about the social aspects of tourism. In our view, the project of creation of an inclusive guesthouse of the territory Akkol is unique. This organization will create a barrier-free resort area for people with special needs, improve their psychological adaptation in society as a whole, it will improve the rate of integration and socialization of people with disabilities.
Let’s hope that these projects will receive full support, and the development of tourism on the territory of Akkol will have stable and long-term character. Development of tourist infrastructure will eventually transform the regional tourism in the highly profitable sector of the economy and integrate it into the Kazakh tourism industry.
Meanwhile, according to the head of the department of tourism Shynarbek Batyrkhanov, the dynamics of development of tourist industry in Akmola region is characterized by steady growth. The total number of tourists in 2015 reached 1 million. Only during the summer it hosts up to 500 thousand vacationers. The total volume of services provided in the tourism industry amounted to 4 billion tenge.
